Introduction to Freyja Garden

Hello Everyone, 

Well this is a pleasant surprise in more ways than one. 

Firstly…how are you all doing?  

As some of you will know I have continued to post a journal each week on the website so anyone who wishes to follow our progress can do. For anyone who has not been keeping up to speed then you may be in for a surprise as, secondly…we are having a bit of a detour on our journey. We are the same old Ann and Bob but we are about to go under a new guise. 

We have been given the opportunity to bring back to life a two hundred and forty five year old walled garden, not very far from the farm. An opportunity not to be missed, so, thankyou Alex and Ally of Restaurant Hjem for offering us this challenge. 

Bob and I will be working alongside Alex and Ally to create a Kitchen Garden while they operate a brand ‘spanking’ new restaurant with gorgeous rooms attached for diners if they wish to stay. The whole entity will be known as ‘Freyja’. That is Restaurant Freyja and Garden Freyja. We are more than excited, just soooo excited! 

Our Hexhamshire Organics farm will also become part of the Freyja adventure. It seems really sensible to have both sites available for the Freyja project. Our Fresh Local Organic Produce will be made available for this fantastic new venue in Northumberland and also for the Box Scheme. Yes, the Box Scheme will return in the months ahead and it will return under a new and better guise. We will be offering the chance to purchase a “Chef’s Box” - who wouldn’t want a vegetable box with top tips, recipes and goodies provided by a Michelin starred Chef?

Soooo, Ann and Bob are the same, the crew…Lovely Lucy and Graham the Great…are the same, the farm is the same. The name, though, is different, something you and I will all get used to in the weeks and months ahead. 

Change and a reset is a great thing, it recharges the brain. We are also delighted to say that, with a huge help from our friend Ben, the garden will be starring in a Freyja YouTube channel - Not me! Oh! No! Not me, well as little as possible of me. Bob, however, he just loves to ‘smile with his eyes’ and be camera ready. I will send details about how to access the channel when it is launched in the next few days.

It has been a bit of a ‘For Your Information’ Journal this week. However, it is very important to me that as we get the news…you get the news. There have been things kept back due to formalities but I will now be able to provide lots of backdated and updated knowledge…watch this space!
