Celery - Bunch

In early modern Britain, Celery was a widely consumed vegetable, often used in white soups or served with salads. Unmarried people sometimes were advised to steer clear of Celery – alongside other foodstuffs such as Eggs, Partridges and Asparagus – as these were thought to be juicy and provocative foods, which could dangerously ignite their passions!
