Shallots - 500g

Shallots were viewed as interchangeable with other types of Onions in the early modern period. They were commonly used in cooking to add flavour to dishes, paired with meats, stews and soups. As with other types of Onions, early modern cooks were warned against serving raw Shallots as they were seen to induce headaches and dull the senses.
