Our Produce


We sow our celery seeds in late March, transplanting in May so they’re ready to harvest in the autumn. They’re so popular this year we’ll sow over 1,000 seeds. Celery is a popular ingredient in salads, soups and stews, with both the stalk and leaves packing great flavour. We grow two varieties at Hexhamshire Organics: Tango and Tall Utah. Another crop that falls into the “cut and come again” category, celery can be cropped for many months. It’s sown in late February and then transplanted to the polytunnels in late March/early April. It becomes available to harvest in June, but because it’s grown in the polytunnels we’re able to harvest it well into the winter months.
